Staff get cooking on first day back!

Staff get cooking on first day back!

On Monday 4th September staff at Meadowfield primary school attended an afternoon of cooking in the curriculum training. The course provided information and cooking activities to help increase their knowledge and confidence to get cooking with their pupils. This will support them to meet the statutory requirements for Cooking and Nutrition within the Design and Technology curriculum.

During the session staff had the opportunity to practice safe chopping techniques and enticing presentation styles as they prepared dips and crudités. The dips they made were tzatziki, hummus and guacamole all presented along with a selection of vegetables crudities.

The staff feedback was really positive, stating they now felt more confident to demonstrate safe chopping techniques and more able to tailor sessions to particular key stages.

There was also a special appearance from Deputy Head, Mr Nick Hemmingway who taste tested the staff’s cooking and judged the best dish!
