Join with other schools for a bespoke training session to support more families to claim free school meals and increase take-up.

Free School Meal numbers have risen dramatically over the last few years, at an accelerated rate, partially due to the effects of the pandemic. This course will cover key topics that may be affecting schools and families, particularly with many families who may be living in poverty or suffered a change in circumstances due to COVID-19 and the rise in the cost of living prices.

Details

This informative and worthwhile training course is ideal for anyone who works with children and families. Delegates will learn key information about free school meals, eligibility criteria, pupil premium, sign posting and much more.

Through practical activities and discussion, delegates will explore barriers and solutions for supporting pupils and families to take their free school meal entitlement. The course will help schools to eliminate stigma and help more children and young people in Leeds to receive a healthy and nutritious meal in school.

This training will support settings to adopt a coordinated approach across the MAT, to work toward a shared goal of increasing free school meal take-up and maximising pupil premium.

Training can be delivered in-school or virtually. A 30 minute planning meeting and 30 minute post-course review meeting can also be requested with a key representative from the MAT.
