Enhance your skills with the HENRY approach to lifestyle change in this 2-day training, designed for practitioners who support parents of children aged 5-12.

This session is for those who have completed HENRY Core Training and wish to become accredited facilitators.

Details

This training is designed for practitioners who aim to deliver the HENRY 5-12 parent programme, either in group settings or one-on-one. As a HENRY facilitator, you will co-deliver HENRY 5-12 parent courses, which consist of eight 2-hour sessions for small groups of parents. These sessions will use the HENRY approach to encourage positive behaviour change and support families in leading healthier and happier lives.

In addition to attending this 2 day training course, participants will also be required to attend three practice development sessions in the year (one per term), each lasting approximately 1.5 hours, to enhance their skills and share best practices. The training is fully funded, with no cost to school staff.

Additionally, there is an option for further training to enable participants to deliver HENRY as a 1:1 programme.

Outcome

Upon completion, participants will be accredited to co-deliver two HENRY 5-12 courses per year and offer 2-hour workshops on topics such as behaviour and fussy eating. The training includes all necessary course materials, parent packs, a trainer manual, and ongoing support from the Leeds HENRY 5-12 team.

The impact of HENRY programmes is significant, with 97% of participating families leading healthier lifestyles by the end of the programme, and many describing the support as ‘life changing.’
