Supporting school leaders to meet statutory guidance through a whole school approach.
This half day course is suitable for Healthy Schools Coordinators, Healthy Eating Leaders and also Senior Leadership. It will support you to understand statutory responsibilities such as compliance with the school food standards.
Details
Through attending this event, you will also gain knowledge of food policy, statutory curriculum requirements, preparing for Ofsted and free school meals. This course will cover everything you need to know about food in school and ensure you are working inline with current local and national guidance. This course is also ideal for any school working towards Healthy Schools status or completing the Healthy Eating theme of the School Health Check, including School Food Friendly status.
This course will help you to ensure that statutory compliances are met through a whole school approach to food. It will also consider and link to recommendations from the National Food Strategy, other recent guidance (including the Levelling Up white paper), local and national data (from the My Health, My School survey).
The recent 'Levelling Up' white paper stated:
'The UK Government will promote accountability and transparency of school food arrangements by encouraging schools to complete a statement on their school websites, which sets out their whole school approach to food. The UK Government’s intention is that this will become mandatory when schools can do this effectively.'
