Enhance Personal, Social, Health and Economic (PSHE) education in your school with our comprehensive Primary PSHE subject leader training.

Join us for an engaging professional development day covering a range of current topics in PSHE.

This is a perfect opportunity for primary leaders of PSHE to hear the latest updates and network with other leads from across the city. Whether you're new to the role, recently appointed, or seeking additional guidance, this day will offer valuable support for PSHE within your school. The event will feature workshops tailored for primary settings.

Details

1. Kooth
This workshop will cover:

    • Kooth activities that can help children and young people build healthy habits.
    • How Kooth can support you with your PSHE lessons.
    • Updates on Kooth local statistics.


2. Dr Charlotte Armitage (Media Psychologist) - Understanding the psychological impact of device use on interpersonal development in children and young people:
A session on the impact devices have on the development of key interpersonal skills, and the consequences of this on future occupational, social, emotional, and interpersonal functioning. You will:

    • Develop an understanding of the psychological harms of device use.
    • Develop an understanding of how device use impacts the future of children.
    • Develop understanding of how device use contributes to mental illness.


3. Youth vaping
This session will address the facts and common misconceptions about vapes and e-cigarettes, covering relevant legislation and legalities. Additionally, you will be directed to teaching resources for use in school.

4. PSHE Association:
Key updates and overview of support from the association.

Public Health Resource Centre staff will be in attendance to give an overview of their service.

There will be opportunity for networking and sharing throughout the day.

    • Please note that lunch is NOT provided at this session. Delegates are advised to bring their own lunch as there are no shops local to the venue.

Please report to reception on arrival/departure to sign in/out on the sheet provided.

Parking on site is limited with some on-street parking nearby. Please allow extra time for parking.
(*Parking is not permitted at the rear of the building where refuse vehicles are based).

The PR2 bus service from the nearby Temple Green Park and Ride facility has a stop on the main road near to the Recycling and Energy Recovery Facility. Newmarket House is behind the Recycling and Energy Recovery Facility. Please speak with the bus driver for advice on where to alight.

Health & Wellbeing Service Level Agreement (SLA) credit value = 2 credits.

Cost: £275 per delegate.

Schools with a current Health & Wellbeing SLA may be entitled to pre-paid places subject to sufficient available training credits.

The full 'pay as you go' price will be applied if you have insufficient training credits.

Cancellations: If you cancel your booking we require at least 5 working days notice. Failure to provide such notice or non attendance will result in your school being charged in full if using ‘pay as you go’. Leeds schools with a full or basic SLA package who do not inform us within 5 working days will incur an administration charge of £30/delegate
