The aim of this guide is to help schools/settings tackle this issue through a whole school approach. It highlights latest guidance, identifies lessons from the Health and Wellbeing Service schemes of work ( a combination of our own lessons and those from external sources) and MindMate lessons, as well as the elements of the School Health Check that relate to this issue.
These schemes of work have been mapped to the statutory guidance for Relationships Education, Relationships and Sex Education and Health Education. This documents highlights the year groups and topics where requirements are covered. Any lessons which relate to child on child abuse are identified by a green flag.
